International Trade Award shortlisting for Bestobell
Bestobell Valves, part of the President Engineering Group (PEGL), is celebrating being shortlisted for the Insider Yorkshire International Trade Awards 2014 in two categories: Growth via International Trade and the SME Manufacturer’s Award.
The winners will be announced at a special event at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 5th June.
The awards recognise the region’s top exporting companies which compete in eight separate categories and are judged by an experienced panel of business leaders and advisers including Eric Hawthorn of Radio Design, Conor Moss of Sheffield Business School, Giles Blackburne of the China Britain Business Council and Philip Kelly of UK Trade & Investment.
PEGL was shortlisted due to its continuous growth in export sales over the past three years that now make up 88% of its business. The company also proved how it has been able to generate significant new business opportunities for its Bestobell business internationally where liquefied natural gas is used as a marine fuel, such as South Korea, China and Europe. It has also expanded into new international markets for its Conflow business, such as Brazil and Indonesia through its acquisition of Bretby Gammatech, a worldwide manufacturer of ash monitoring equipment.
Mark Henley, Managing director of President Engineering Group, said: “We are really excited about being shortlisted for these prestigious awards. It is fantastic to be recognised for our international trade success and we look forward to the final results being revealed in June.”
PEGL recently won the Made in Sheffield SME of the year award after demonstrating how it had grown through innovation and because of its reputation for craftsmanship and high quality manufacture.
President Engineering Group Ltd (PEGL) was established in 2010 through a management buyout from the Flow Group involving the Conflow and Bestobell Valves businesses. These were purchased by a Sheffield-based management team consisting of Mark Henley (Managing Director), Marie Cooper (Financial Director) & John Waddington (Operations Director).
