Bestobell supplies first LNG Fuelled Tug in the Middle East

Bestobell Marine has received a major new order to supply the Middle East’s first LNG (liquefied natural gas) fuelled harbour tug.

The order will see Bestobell Marine supply a complete set of cryogenic globe valves to be fitted in the LNG-Pac fuel gas system for a new harbour tug design which will be built at Dubai Drydocks. The new tug will use LNG as the primary fuel and will be operated by Dubai Maritime City.

Duncan Gaskin, Sales Director of Bestobell Marine, said: “We are delighted to be supplying valves to the Middle East’s first LNG fuelled harbour tug. An increasing number of vessels are being built using LNG as their primary fuel which presents great opportunities for our cryogenic valves.”

United Arab Emirates-based TASNEEF, the Class Society for the project, will provide classification and advisory services for the LNG fuel project. Bestobell Marine’s extensive experience in dealing with a variety of Class Societies will be beneficial in meeting these requirements.

Hat Trick order for Bestobell Marine in China

Bestobell Marine, part of the President Engineering Group, has received its third order in the past 12 months from Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in China.

The deal involves the supply of cryogenic miniature needle globe valves for four Teekay/CNOOC/China Shipping Group LNG (liquefied natural gas) Carriers to be built at the shipyard, which will be chartered by BG Group.

Bestobell Marine has already secured orders for its cryogenic globe and check valves, as well as its unique FLIV (float level isolation) valves, for ten LNG Carriers currently under construction at the shipyard, with this latest order completing the hat trick for the company.

Duncan Gaskin, Sales Director at Bestobell Marine, said: “This third contract with Hudong Zhonghua is testament to our expertise in developing cryogenic valve solutions for the marine sector globally. We see huge potential in the Chinese market over the next five years, which opens up very exciting opportunities for Bestobell Marine to become the leading supplier of cryogenic valves for vessels in China.”

PEGL Wins National Manufacturer of the Year Award

President Engineering Group Ltd has won the prestigious award for ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ in the finals of the British Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Chamber Awards 2014.

The company faced stiff competition from hundreds of other leading manufacturers from across the UK to win the award, after PEGL was successful in winning the regional Manufacturer of the Year award. This meant the company went through to the national finals where it faced stiff competition from each region’s winning manufacturing business. The prestigious award was presented by Fox Sports Presenter Georgie Thompson at a glittering ceremony held at the Pavilion at the Tower of London.

Bestobell Marine Secures Major Chinese Contract

Bestobell Marine, part of the President Engineering Group, is celebrating after securing a major new contract with Hudong Zhongua shipyard in Shanghai.

The new contract is to supply cryogenic globe and check valves and Bestobell’s unique Float Level Insulation Valves (FLIV) for use on the four Teekay shipping vessels to be chartered by BG Group.

This latest order takes the total number of Chinese vessels using Bestobell’s valves to 14, helping the company secure its position as a major supplier of cryogenic globe and check valves for Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGC) in China.

Our parent company; PEGL are celebrating securing ISO14001, the environmental management standard, which represents its commitment to environmental good practice.

Achievement of the ISO14001 standard demonstrates that PEGL is clearly focused on reducing its environmental impact and carbon footprint through careful use of resources and increasing its recycling activities.

Throughout our business we are committed to reducing energy use and carrying out recycling activities in the interests of the local community and the environment in which we operate.
